The Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology*

The economic operator will apply to the territorial unit of the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology within whose territorial jurisdiction it is set up, in order to obtain a license for repairing measuring instruments. It will submit and register the relevant documentation provided in the Government Decision 1660/2005 on approval of certain legal metrology instructions, with subsequent modifications: I.M.L. 6.05 - Licenses and P.M.L. 6-03-10 License Issuance for repairing measuring instruments. Within 30 days after the submission of documentation, the specialists of the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology will check on the spot the compliance with the mentioned regulations requirements and issue the license for repairing measuring instruments (if they found non-conformities during evaluation, the license for modifying measuring instruments will be issued within 60 days at most.)

To this purpose, it will submit and register the relevant documentation provided in the Government Decision 1660/2005 on approval of certain legal metrology instructions, with subsequent modifications: I.M.L. 6.05 - Licenses and P.M.L. 6-07-10 License Issuance for installing measuring instruments. Within 30 days after the submission of documentation, the specialists of the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology will check on the spot the compliance with the mentioned regulations requirements and issue the license for installing measuring instruments (if they found non-conformities during evaluation, the license for installing measuring instruments will be issued within 60 days at most.)

Within 30 days after the submission of documentation, the specialists of the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology will check on the spot the compliance with the mentioned regulations requirements and issue the license for modifying measuring instruments (if they found non-conformities during evaluation, the license for modifying measuring instruments will be issued within 60 days at most.)

The natural persons interested to perform metrological verifications in a metrological laboratory must apply for an examination in order to obtain the verification officer authorization. The application may also be made by the legal persons where the natural persons seeking authorization are employed. The application accompanied by the documents required by the legal metrology procedure PML 5-01-05 “Authorization of natural persons”, 2nd edition, approved by Order no. 61/02.03.2011 of the BRML Director General, will be lodged at the head office of the territorial BRML unit. The authorization will be issued within 30 days after the registration of application. The legal person who requires authorization for his metrological laboratory must file to the head office of the BRML territorial unit an application accompanied by the documents required by the legal metrology procedure PML 5-04-05, 4th edition-Requirements for metrological laboratories-approved by Order no. 61/2011. PML 5-04-05 of the BRML Director General. PML 5-04-05 4th edition is available on the BRML website at http://www.brml.ro/proceduri-de-metrologie-legala. The Laboratory Authorization will be issued within 30 days after the registration of application, if non-conformities were not found during assessment, or 60 days after the registration of application, if non-conformities were found during assessment.
