The professional maternal assistant is a natural person, certified under the conditions of the law, who, through the activity carried out at their own home, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in foster care. Persons residing in the territorial area of Giurgiu county, interested in becoming a maternal assistant, submit to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Giurgiu an assessment request of their capacity, accompanied by the documents mentioned below. The certificate is issued by the Giurgiu Child Protection Commission and is valid for 3 years.
