Description: By this procedure “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati automatically recognizes the PhD diploma and the doctoral degree in science or in a professional field obtained abroad: “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati recognizes recognizes the PhD diploma and the doctoral degree in science or in a professional field obtained in: a) accredited institutions of higher education or research – development from an European Union member state, from the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited institutions of higher education or research – development included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved / updated periodically by the minister’s order; c) accredited institutions of higher education or research – development which are involved in an international agreement of mutual recognition, signed at intergovernmental or interuniversity level. DJUG permanently collaborates with the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas and sends every semester a centralized situation of the requests for recognition. The recognition by DJUG of the PhD diploma and the doctoral degree in science or in a professional field obtained abroad is made with the purpose for enrolling at post university programs, for obtaining habilitation, to fill up a didactic or research position within DJUG. Executing the rights given by the PhD degree in sciences and filling up a didactic position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force. Means of appeal The appeal is submitted at the university within 30 days since receiving the decision and the answer to the appeal will be presented within 30 days. Later, the university’s final decision can be appealed to the courts. Description: By this procedure “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati automatically recognizes the title of PhD supervisor obtained in an accredited university from abroad. The procedure applies for Romanian citizens and citizens from European Union member states, from the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation, who have obtained didactic positions in accredited universities from European Union member states, from the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation and from prestigious universities from other member states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states", approved by the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research Ordinance no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically, in order to settle in Romania. Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law no. 200/2004 and Art. 296 of the Law of National Education no. 1/2011 are applied: „(1) The reserved, vacant or temporarily vacant didactic positions are covered with priority by the titular teaching staff of the institution or by the associated teaching staff by hourly pay, according to the present law. (2) Employing specialists with scientific and professional value recognized in the field, home or abroad, as invited associate professors, is endorsed by the department council and approved by the administration council.” Executing the rights given by the title of PhD supervisor and filling up a didactic position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force. Means of appeal The appeal is submitted at the university within 15 days since receiving the decision and the answer to the appeal regarding the non-recognition of the title of PhD supervisor or the habilitation will be presented within 5 days. Later, the university’s final decision can be appealed to the courts.
