Apollonia University of Iași*

The procedure regulates the recognition at Apollonia University of Iași (UAI) of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad at:

a) accredited higher education or research and development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation;

b) accredited higher education or research and development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved/updated by order of the relevant minister;

c) accredited higher education or research and development institutions that are subject to an international convention of mutual recognition concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

The recognition of the diploma and the title of doctor by UAI, according to this methodology, is valid and produces legal effects only at the UAI level and is accomplished for the purpose of enrollment in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, or occupying a teaching or research position within UAI.

Doctoral diplomas subject to recognition will be authenticated with the Hague Apostille for states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, and for other states the documents will be superlegalized or accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin. Exemption from apostille or superlegalization is allowed under the law, an international treaty to which Romania is a party, or on the basis of reciprocity.

The procedure establishes the way in which the automatic recognition by Apollonia University of Iași (UAI) is carried out, for the teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad for persons who request to occupy a teaching position within UAI, recognizing the teaching positions in university education obtained at:

a) accredited higher education or research and development institutions in a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;

b) accredited higher education or research and development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities in other countries, approved/updated by order of the competent minister;

c) accredited higher education or research and development institutions that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

The recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad according to this methodology is valid and produces legal effects only at the level of UAI.
