Iasi College of Pharmacists*

The resumption of membership is done based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College, specifically the College of Pharmacists Iasi, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the register of pharmacists (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been registered against the pharmacist at the level of the college from which the transfer is taking place or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or, as the case may be, the disciplinary file will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, by making an express request in this regard, meet the following conditions:

• hold an official qualification in pharmacy;
• are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law;
• are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist;
• have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years;
• have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the Iasi territorial college, amounting to 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR of graduation and 235 lei for other persons)

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Certificate of Membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the Iasi College of Pharmacists, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

According to the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in the case of new pharmaceutical units being established, as well as changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take on the position), shall address the county colleges in order to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice abroad.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drafted by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for drafting and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the C.F.R. will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare and transmit it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Registry of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to applicants with a signature upon receipt.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, shall be paid into the account of the territorial college RO92BRDE240SV08217902400.

The suspension of membership is done when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists Iași, a request through which they ask for the suspension of their membership. At the time they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the fees until the end of the year and must fulfill the condition of continuous professional development by completing 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists from Romania within 30 days from the resumption of activity.
