Buzau Pharmacists’ College*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, by making an explicit request in this regard, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the territorial college RO58 CECEBZ0137RON0162808 in the amount of 10% of the minimum wage at the time of registration, according to CFR Decision no.2 of June 15, 2009).

The suspension of membership status occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Buzău Pharmacists’ College, a request by which they ask for the suspension of membership status. At the moment they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have the membership fee paid up until the end of the year.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Implementation Regulations published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those taking over the chief position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established through Decision of the National Council of the C.F.R. no.1/2007, and revised through Decision no.1 dated 15.09.2023

We present below the main provisions of Decision no.1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college at which the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request to issue the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard application for preparing and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 10 days from receiving the request, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Record Register - with identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county - and will hand them over to applicants with a signature upon receipt.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, according to Decision no.1 dated 21 November 2024, is 150 lei.

Regaining member status is based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Buzau College of Pharmacists, requesting the resumption of member status starting from a certain date.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request.

Before the issuance of the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the contributions owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed over to the applicant with signature. In the pharmacists' record register (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint against the pharmacist has been recorded at the level of the college from which the pharmacist is transferring, or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be transmitted to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Membership Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the Buzau College, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents presented below.
