General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Caras-Severin*

The Social Assistance Service ensures the protection of the child who requires the establishment of a protection measure that entails the upbringing, care, and education of children deprived of parental care, including children with special needs (children with disabilities, abused/neglected children, children with behavioral disorders, children with chronic illnesses, etc.) by a professional maternal assistant, at his/her home.

The professional maternal assistant is the individual who is certified as meeting the conditions set by law, as well as the additional criteria approved by the DGASPC Caras-Severin, and who, through the activity carried out, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children received into care.
