Procedure regarding the recognition by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu of the doctoral diploma and the doctoral title obtained abroad*
This procedure establishes the way in which the Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu automatically recognizes the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field obtained from educational institutions. The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained a doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in:
- accredited institutions of higher education or research and development in the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited institutions of higher education or research and development included in the “List of prestigious universities from other countries,” approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically, for the purpose of establishment on the territory of Romania;
- accredited institutions of higher education or research and development that are subject to an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at the governmental or inter-university level.
File submission:
The recognition file can also be submitted directly by the applicant to the University Rector’s Office or sent by mail to the following address: Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu, 1 Republicii Boulevard, postal code 210152, Târgu-Jiu, Romania. The file is registered at the University Registry and sent for resolution.
*Procedure regarding the automatic recognition by the Constantin Brâncusi University of Târgu-Jiu of the status of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*
This procedure establishes the manner in which the automatic recognition by the Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu is performed for the status of PhD supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad. The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained the status of PhD supervisor in:
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions from the member states of the European Union, European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions included in the “List of prestigious universities from other countries,” approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated, for the purpose of establishing in Romania;
- accredited higher education or research-development institutions that are subject to an international convention of mutual recognition, concluded at governmental or inter-university level.

The recognition file can also be submitted directly by the applicant to the Rectorate of the University or can be sent by mail to the address: Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu, 1 Republicii Boulevard, postal code 210152, Târgu-Jiu, Romania. The file is registered at the University Registry and transmitted for resolution.
*Procedure regarding the automatic recognition by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*
The procedure establishes the manner in which teaching positions in university education obtained at accredited higher education institutions abroad, as stipulated in Annex OM 5922/15.12.2016, are automatically recognized by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu.
The procedure applies to Romanian citizens and citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation who have obtained a teaching position in:
- accredited institutions from the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
- accredited institutions included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries," approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically, for the purpose of establishing themselves in Romania;
Teaching positions obtained at other accredited universities than those mentioned above are recognized only based on an international mutual recognition agreement concluded at the intergovernmental or inter-university level.
Automatic recognition of teaching positions obtained abroad may occur in the case of participating in a competition for filling a teaching post, or other teaching activities carried out at Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu-Jiu.
Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law no. 200/2004 and art. 296 para (1) and (2) of Law no. 1 of 2011 of the National Education apply directly.
Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force.
