Braila Pharmacists' College*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon express request, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not found in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is to be paid into the territorial college's account RO50CECEBR0137RON0117763 in the amount of 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR after graduation and 235 lei for the rest of the persons).

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Rules published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position of chief), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is required for pharmacists who want to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists from Romania no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists from Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered:

The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists from Romania the standard request form for preparing and issuing the document:

Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the College of Pharmacists from Romania will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college

The Current Professional Certificate shall be issued by the College of Pharmacists from Romania which will prepare and send it to the territorial college;

The territorial college will prepare a Register of records - with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists from the respective county - and will hand them over to the applicants with a signed receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 RON, will be paid into the account of the territorial college RO50CECEBR0137RON0117763.

Resumption of membership is done based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists from Braila, requesting the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

Suspension of membership status occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the office of the territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists of Braila, a request by which they ask for the suspension of membership status. At the moment they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must meet the condition of continuous professional development through a number of 40 EFC hours for that period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days of resuming activity.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request.

Before the issuance of the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacist register (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has been transferred will be mentioned. If, at the college from which the pharmacist is being transferred, a complaint has been filed against them or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is being transferred.

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Certificate of Membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists in Braila, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania.
