The professional maternal assistant is a natural person, certified according to the law, who, through their activity carried out at their home, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive into placement. Persons residing in the territorial jurisdiction of Hunedoara county who are interested in becoming a professional maternal assistant must submit to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Hunedoara an application for the evaluation of their capacity, accompanied by the documents mentioned below.
The application will obligatorily mention the number of children for whom the applicant believes they can simultaneously provide optimal care conditions, their age group and gender, as well as the availability to care for children with disabilities, HIV-infected, or suffering from AIDS.
The application will include the applicant's Curriculum Vitae as well as the reasons why they wish to become a professional maternal assistant.
The certificate is issued by the Child Protection Commission Hunedoara, having a validity of 3 years.

The person who considers themselves wronged by the answer received from DGASPC Hunedoara may address the administrative litigation court under Law no. 544/2004.
