The professional maternal assistant is the natural person, certified according to the law, who provides through their activity at their home the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement. Persons residing in Maramures county who wish to become professional maternal assistants must submit a request for the evaluation of their capacity to the Maramures General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection, accompanied by the documents mentioned below. The certificate of professional maternal assistant is issued for a period of 3 years by the Maramures Child Protection Commission.
